ABOUT FORGOTTEN FRONTIER TALES

Some families talk about the weather. We talk about ghosts, Bigfoot, UFOs, and the strange stories hiding down old back roads.

Forgotten Frontier Tales grew from a shared family fascination with the unexplained, American folklore, forgotten places, and the stories that refuse to disappear.

Living in Appalachia, we're surrounded by the kind of places that make you wonder. Old mountain roads. Abandoned buildings. Small towns with stories everyone seems to know—but nobody tells quite the same way twice.

That curiosity became Forgotten Frontier Tales.

We create shirts inspired by the things we genuinely love: hauntings, Bigfoot, UFOs, Appalachian legends, strange history, dark Americana, and occasionally the lighter side of the paranormal.

But we don't want our shirts to feel like advertisements for a brand. The artwork comes first. Our goal is to make something you'd want to wear even if you've never heard of Forgotten Frontier Tales.

Some designs are eerie. Some are beautiful. Some are weird. And some are just meant to make you laugh.

They're all connected by the same thing that started this in the first place:

A family that loves a good strange story.

Made for the curious.

A Little About Us

Forgotten Frontier Tales started with something our family has always shared: a love for the strange and unexplained.

Ghost stories, Bigfoot, UFOs, Appalachian folklore, strange history, old places with good stories—and, of course, Halloween. We're the kind of family that can turn a conversation about an old house into a debate about whether it's actually haunted.

I work a regular job and build Forgotten Frontier Tales around work and family life. What began as a personal interest has gradually become a family project. Ideas get passed around, designs get opinions from everyone, and sometimes the best feedback is simply, “Nobody is going to wear that.”

They're usually right.

The Halloween scene on this page is a little imagination on our part—our version of what a Forgotten Frontier Tales party might look like if all the stories we love could show up.

Fortunately, Bigfoot hasn't actually crashed one of our parties yet.

Where the Artwork Comes From

We also believe in being open about how we create.

AI is one of the creative tools we use to help build our artwork. We see it as an exciting new part of the creative process—the same way new tools have always changed what people are able to make.

But there's still a person and a family behind Forgotten Frontier Tales. The ideas start with us. We choose the concepts, develop the designs, make revisions, reject the ones that don't work, and decide what eventually earns a place in the store. AI helps us turn ideas that once would have stayed in our heads into artwork we can actually share with you.

We're excited about where this technology is going, but we're even more excited about what people can create with it.

More than anything, we want to make shirts we'd be excited to discover ourselves—something interesting, funny, eerie, or different enough to make someone ask, “Where did you get that?”

We're a small family operation, we're still building, and every order allows us to keep experimenting, creating, and growing Forgotten Frontier Tales.

Thanks for stopping by and being part of what we're building.
